Andreas Bienert has worked in the mental health field since 2005. He holds licensures in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. He is recognized for his work with individuals struggling to recover from addiction and trauma, and has worked with children, adolescents, adults and families. He has worked as an adjunct instructor at Huntington University and Regent University, and regularly provides supervision to counselors in training.
As a native of Austria, Andreas Bienert grew up in a country that has deep roots in psychological theory and has lived in the United States for 10 years. His bi-cultural background and focus on Community Mental Health has led him to a number of volunteer opportunities and leadership roles. As an Austrian with professional experience and associations in the US and Europe, Andreas brings a broad and rich cultural sensitivity to the counseling and other mental health fields. He carries a strong vision that includes the development of counseling services in European countries where these services are still in early developmental stages.
Andreas serves as a Steering Committee Member of the International Registry of Counselor Education Programs, where he represents the development of counselor education for the continent of Europe. Not only has he worked in the US and Austria, he also joined a cross-cultural training team where he taught counseling to students in Honduras and the Ukraine and supervises them throughout their clinical training program.
